Our Gold Bar Whiskey distillery is located on Treasure Island in San Francisco, California. We mature, double cask and bottle all of our whiskies on site.

We currently source our base spirit from high quality craft distillers in the US who have distilled the whiskey to our specifications. Our Master Blender, Montgomery Paulsen, then takes these base whiskies and finishes them in former wine barrels from Napa Valley before marrying them together for resting and consistency before bottling. All of the finishing, blending and bottling occurs on site in our San Francisco Distillery.

Bourbon is a type of whiskey, in the same way that Champagne is a type of wine. So therefore all Bourbon is Whiskey but not all Whiskey is Bourbon. Bourbon can only be produced in the United States (any state, not just Kentucky) and must be distilled from a mash bill (mixture of grains) that is at least 51% corn. It must then be matured in new charred oak barrels and cannot include any additives or colorings. To be called “straight bourbon whiskey”, bourbon has to have been aged in new charred oak barrels for a minimum of two years.

Gold Bar Black and Gold Bar Rickhouse are both Bourbon Whiskies. Gold Bar Original (Gold Bottle) is a blended American Whiskey. All of our whiskies are finished in California Wine barrels.

The two spellings indicate the region the whisk(e)y is from. Whisky without an “e” is typically from Scotland or Canada and Whiskey with the “e” generally refers to American or Irish whiskies. An easy way to remember which is which is if the country name has an “e” then so does the whisk(e)y

There are three main ingredients in whiskey: grain, yeast and water. While the ingredients are simple , the type and percentage of grain in the mash bill, as well as various regional distillation and maturation processes give each brand and variety a signature flavor. Our whiskies have mash bills of the following approximate grain mix: 1)GOLD BAR ORIGINAL: 88% Corn, 9% Rye, 3% Barley 2)GOLD BAR BLACK BOURBON: 80% Texas Corn, 20% Oklahoma Rye 3)GOLD BAR RICKHOUSE: 80% Corn, 20% Rye

Gold Bar Whiskey is proud to be the Official Whiskey of the San Francisco 49ers as well as an Official Partner and Official Celebration Cocktail of the Vegas Golden Knights.

Yes, Gold Bar Whiskey, like most whiskies, is gluten-free as a result of the distillation process.

We are always excited to bring Gold Bar Whiskey to new locations around the world. If you are unable to find our whiskey near you, contact us and we will be happy to add your country, city or area to our list of distribution requests.

A Rickhouse is a warehouse used for storing barrels of aging whiskies and is the inspiration for our newest whiskey, Rickhouse Cask Strength Bourbon. Barrels are stored on "ricks" stacked several rows high.
