Back in October, 2018, A.J Rathbun, a freelance food and entertainment writer, poet and author posted a new cocktail for the world to consider in his ‘What I’m Drinking’ blog post.
A modern take on Jacques Staub’s ‘The Clifton’, Rathbun’s ‘The Cliftonness’ replaces rye with Gold Bar Whiskey Blend 889, and uses dry Curaçao instead of ‘brown’ Curaçao the original cocktail called for.
A.J ‘just started playing around with the amounts of our main ingredients. And, voila, we took home the gold. And by that, I mean it all came together into a bright, light, drink, with herbal and botanical hints and a smooth whiskey hum underneath.’
